Find out about Auction House in York & North Yorkshire
We are delighted to have been appointed by Auction House UK to provide property auction services in the North Yorkshire region. Regular property auction sales will take place at our specialist York Auction Centre, which has very good easy access from the A64 trunk road, approximately 4 miles east of York.
Stephenson & Son was established in 1871 by Jacob Stephenson who left his farm in Wighill to sell at the local auction market at Tadcaster. Six generations later the auction business is based at York Auction Centre, Murton and has been there since 1971 from where we provide a full range of professional and property services including:-
● Property Valuations, Sales and Lettings
● Property Management
● Taxation Advice
● Planning and Design
● Compulsory Purchase
The business expanded into residential estate agency and commercial property a number of years ago. This is run as a linked business “Stephenson’s Estate Agents”. We are also in partnership with Boulton & Cooper, which takes our area into Ryedale. This provides a network of offices through North Yorkshire, including York, Selby, Easingwold, Boroughbridge, Knaresborough, Malton, Pickering, Helmsley and Kirkbymoorside.
All the partners are qualified members of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and are also experienced professional auctioneers, with over 80,000 lots of livestock, machinery, cars, horses and furniture passing through the centre last year.

*Guides are provided as an indication of each seller's minimum expectation.
They are not necessarily figures which a property will sell for and may change at any time prior to
the auction. Each property will be offered subject to a Reserve
(a figure below which the Auctioneer cannot sell the property during the auction) which we expect
will be set within the Guide Range or no more than 10% above a single figure Guide.
Additional Fees Information
Please be aware there may be additional fees payable on top of the final sale price. This include and are not limited to administration charges and buyer's premium fees payable on exchange, and disbursements payable on completion. Please ensure you check the property information page for a list of any relevant additional fees as well as reading the legal pack for any disbursements.
