The filed title plan for the property shows it sitting on the land it is built on; the current members of the PCC believe the boundaries should encapsulate a wider curtilage, however they do not have sufficient knowledge of the history of the property and its registration to be sure. There is no formal right of way to the building over the land in the ownership of the care home, although historically access has been gained to the property over the adjoining owners’ land. There is no current agreement for access with the owners of the care home. Likewise, when the w.c. extension was added in around 1982 it was connected to a septic tank constructed within the grounds of the adjoining property. The PCC members believe that this was with the knowledge and consent of the owner at the time but the rights were never formalised. Interested parties should note that there is now mains drainage in the village.
