With over 6,300 sales in 2025, the UK’s leading property and land auctioneer is poised for a strong 2026.
The year 2025 marked a true milestone for us here at Auction House, with over 6,300 assets sold and £850 million raised for clients over the 12-month period. After an exceptional year, we've begun 2026 with a strong wind in our sail and new leadership, with Oliver Prior stepping into the role of Managing Director to continue our record-breaking growth.

Oliver Prior takes the helm
From the start of 2026, Oliver Prior moved into a new leadership role as Managing Director of Auction House UK. He takes the reins from Jeremy Prior, who will remain on the group’s board of directors and assume the position of Chairman.
Oliver Prior, a Chartered Surveyor, joined us in 2021 as an Auction Valuer, rising to Auctioneer and then National Commercial Director. He previously worked in mixed-use development consultancy and corporate commercial advisory at Savills and CBRE respectively. In his new role, he will build on his extensive auctioneering and business knowledge to steer the group’s future operations and strategic goals. He will also be focused on cementing the group’s 2025 successes with further gains and bolstering Auction House’s reputation as the leading UK property auctioneer.
“I’m thrilled to be starting 2026 as the Managing Director of Auction House UK,” commented Oliver Prior. “Despite a challenging market, the group has gone from strength-to-strength, creating a solid foundation for me to lead the group on a continued growth trajectory.
“This year, we have a packed schedule of online, livestream and in-room auctions, offering buyers and sellers more opportunities than any other auction house to transact and meet their individual requirements. Having expanded our coverage to include Northern Ireland, we are the only auctioneer able to offer a localised service across the entirety of the UK. This unique proposition sets us apart from our competitors and positions us perfectly to respond to the changing auction landscape.
“I can’t wait to see what the next 12 months will bring.”
New figures for the record books
In 2025, our group offered more than 9,000 lots for sale and sold over 6,300, an uptick of 10% year-on-year. As a result, we recorded an amazing £850 million in total sales.
“Our private, public and institutional vendors are reaping the rewards of our national and regional presence, where local auctioneers are able to provide genuine expertise on a local level while delivering marketing exposure at a national level,” commented Oliver Prior. “This truly sets us apart from the competition, and our success at this is demonstrated by our latest results.”
Our weekly national online event also continued to capitalise on its previous successes, selling over 1,703 properties, an outstanding rise of 66% from 2024. The national online auctions also enjoyed a 56% increase in the amount raised year-on-year, resulting in a final figure of more than £132.5 million.
“The popularity of our weekly national online auctions shows no sign of slowing,” said Oliver Prior. “The data shows that confidence in online auctions is growing, with more first-time auction buyers registering to bid on the platform than ever before, and we are positioning ourselves to respond to this change for the benefit of our clients.
“We expect 2026 to deliver increased activity across the national online platform and we’ve already received over 260 instructions for January.”
