Auction House has announced strong sale results in the final month of 2025 raising £77 million and winding up an extraordinary year with total sales in excess of £850 million, having sold over 6,300 properties.
Oliver Prior, MD designate, commented: “Auction House has had a busy December holding 19 auctions in this month alone, adding to the 180 auctions already conducted throughout 2025. This unrivalled auction frequency accounts for the sale of £850 million of property sold on behalf of our clients, a rise in sales year on year of over 10%.
“Despite a challenging market our clients – private, public and institutional vendors alike – appreciate the regional and national presence Auction House offers where local auctioneers are able to supply genuine local expertise and advice while marketing assets on a national and international platform – something which our competitors are unable to do.”
We have offered over 9,000 lots, successfully selling 6,100 at an annual success rate of fractionally under 70%. This activity makes it the largest group of auctioneers throughout the country, selling the highest numbers of lots by some considerable margin.
Commenting on the prospects for 2026, Oliver Prior believes “the private treaty market will continue to be sluggish, but a reduction in lending rates will deliver a renewed buoyancy to the market and unconditional auctions will allow stakeholders to respond quickly to the changing environment.”
